Description

The Environmental Health & Safety Intern will assist the EHS team with various environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety projects to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Risk Assessments of manufacturing processes
  • Perform safety and/or environmental inspections and audits, including, but not limited to hazardous waste inspections, SPCC inspections, LOTO audits, etc.
  • Work with Operations and Engineering to improve Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and management of EHS programs to ensure compliance
  • Participate in safety and sustainability committee activities
  • Assist in developing proactive safety initiatives
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and suggest improvements
  • Review EHS training material and make recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct EHS training for small groups
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field for the duration of internship.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work onsite in Peoria, IL

Preferred:

  • Junior level status
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
